Brief Overview of Southern California Regions:
- San Diego: From San Onofre to the Mexican border, San Diego County houses over three million residents. Local attractions beyond the sprawling white sand beaches include the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Lego Land, Carlsbad Flower Fields, and others. SD is also home to the NFL Chargers and MLB Padres teams. Each city in San Diego offers different amenities and locales ranging from the down town metropolitan center to the secluded beaches of La Jolla and finally the ranch-type settings in Alpine and Julian.
San Diego's main attractions are the harbor and Coronado Island. From the tip of Point Loma stretching fifty miles to Imperial Beach, San Diego's natural harbor is home to some of the finest restaurants, entertainment, industry, homesteads, and views of the glorious Pacific Ocean that California has to offer.
- Orange County: The gem of Southern California. Orange County is home to Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and many villages by the sea including: San Clemente, Dana Point, Monarch Beach, and others... By moving to Orange County you are central to both the Los Angeles and San Diego Metropolitan areas. Anaheim is home to Disneyland, the MLB Angels and NHL Ducks professional sports teams. Rapid transit can bring you north to Los Angeles or southward all the way to the Mexican border. Orange County provides the escape from urban life in the big city and is a series of close-knit, thriving suburban communities.
- Los Angeles: The largest metropolitan area in California. LA County houses over twelve million people and is home to places like Hollywood, Santa Monica, Pasadena (home of the Rose Bowl), Palos Verdes, and the freshly revitalized down town area of Los Angeles (home of the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings). It is a mecca for the entertainment, fashion, and aerospace industries. LA provides natural escapes like Malibu and the San Fernando Mountains making it a wonderful place to relocate in California.
- Riverside: Home to a thriving agricultural industry. Riverside offers many lake and boating communities. In the south Temecula boasts some of Southern California's best vineyards and is often a weekend getaway destination. Communities here consist mostly of new construction. Of any region of Southern California mentioned on this page, Riverside has by far the least traffic. It has expansive open space and room for development.
- School Rankings: Selecting a home when you have children in school is a very important decision. In Southern California there are guidelines that dictate, based on neighborhood, which school children attend. If you are considering private or charter schools this rule will not apply to you; however, if you plan on having your children attend public school there are a multitude of research techniques to ensure that they receive the highest quality of education.
